Osteoporosis is a condition when the quality of bone density is decreasing. This condition makes the bones become porous and vulnerable to crack. Osteoporosis is usually only known after discovered of cracks in the bone, after patients had a fall. Cracks on the wrist, hips, and spine are the most common cases in patients with osteoporosis.

Generally there are no signs of osteoporosis in the beginning of the decreasing in bone density. However, some conditions can be a symptom of osteoporosis, such as back pain, stooped posture, reduced height, more frequently injured / fracture. The decreasing of density can make our bones susceptible to crack. The cracks usually occur in the spine, wrist, arm, or thigh bone. Osteoporosis usually does not cause pain unless the fracture. If you experience back pain sustained in a long term, this could be the symptoms of osteoporosis. This condition can also affect your breathing due to the limited space for the lungs to expand.

Osteoporosis is caused by a decrease in bone density by ages. Osteoporosis happens to everyone, but some people are more at risk and faster experiencing this condition than others. When young, the human bone regenerate quickly and in the most solid and strong condition. But as your ages change, old bone is not immediately replaced with new bone and no longer grow. This makes the bones gradually become more brittle over time. The older, the more your bone density becomes increasingly reduced. Bones become weak, brittle and more susceptible to crack.

Everyone can keep their bones healthy and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. You can start by implementing a healthy diet along with regular exercise. Expand the selection of foods rich in vitamin D and calcium. Begin to reduce smoking to really be able to avoid completely and reduce the consumption of liquor. You may not need or want the drugs to treat your osteoporosis, but you still need to keep inadequate levels of calcium and vitamin D. Vitamin D is important for calcium absorption which is necessary for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D can be found in egg yolks, soy milk, and beef liver. Maintain a balanced diet can keep you, not only from the risk of osteoporosis, but also heart disease, diabetes, till various types of cancer. Your doctor may suggest dietary changes and supplements to meet this requirement.

People with osteoporosis are generally advised to take drugs to prevent bone fractures. Choice of type of osteoporosis treatment is given depends on the risk level of your fracture. It is based on a number of data such as the results of DEXA and your age. For you who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, it is important to keep yourself from being injured or suffered a fracture. People with the elderly are advised to undergo regular vision and hearing treatment.

Create a safe home and environment with moving the furniture that makes you at risk for falls, stumbles, or bumped. If you have suffered a fracture, there are some ways that can help you to recover. For example, treatment with warm baths or prepare cool compresses bags. Relaxation can also help the recovery process. Ask your doctor about how to live with osteoporosis in the long term. In addition, try to exchange thoughts with a trained counselor, psychologist, or other patients.
